Origin

Probably the most legendary Riesling site in Germany is located at the Saar. The predominantly south-facing slope with a steepness of 30-55%, situated between 190 and 310 meters above sea level, consists of grey and red weathered slate soil with loamy silt and some loess. The typical characteristics of these special wines include particularly minerality, grace and enormous ageing potential.

Vinification

The 100% healthy grapes were harvested in October, gently crushed, and briefly macerated on the berry skins to extract aroma and minerals. The must fermented slowly and spontaneously at low temperature, to perfectly develop a complex fruit aroma. The wine then received an extended stay on its lees in stainless steel tank.
